At Lakewood Park Christian School, we know that learning about technology is not just important in today’s society, it’s a necessity. Therefore, we place a high emphasis on exposing our students to technology early on in their academic careers and developing their technology skills as they progress. Beginning in PreK, our students are exposed to computers and iPads, learning how to use a mousepad, keyboard and touch screen. As they progress, students learn how to use technology safely and functionally for research, design and publishing. Our elementary students participate in weekly computer/technology classes with a licensed teacher. Tablets and 2-in-1 devices are used in PreK – second grade classrooms and laptops are utilized in third through sixth grade classrooms. We use technology to enhance the learning process and develop appropriate skills to prepare students for success in a 21st century workplace or learning environment. By preparing our students for the modern world, we give them the tools to positively impact their communities and become difference-makers in Christ.
