Faith is the cornerstone of all that we do at Lakewood Park Christian School. Our faith is rooted in the Bible – the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments – inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life. Following the Scriptures, we believe the Genesis account of a literal six-day creation, in which man was created directly after God’s image and after his own likeness, and not through evolution (evolving from other life forms). Man was created in innocence, but voluntarily sinned. As a consequence, all men are now sinners and under just condemnation, without defense of excuse. Our world was created by one God, eternally existing in three equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit bears witness to the truth of the gospel and dwells in Christians to enable them to live godly lives. Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit of God, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true man and true God. We believe that Jesus is full deity, existing as a co-equal member of the Godhead. The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and was literally resurrected, and he now reigns at the right hand of God the Father. Our salvation that Jesus offers us is only by grace, a free gift of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
