I hope that our Lakewood Park families are staying healthy and well. We appreciate your grace and patience as we work through the many challenges of this school year.
With recent updates from the CDC as well as state and local health departments, we have made changes to our Return to Learn Plan, specifically with regard to contact tracing and quarantine guidelines for staff and students. While COVID-19 cases are on the rise across the state, we are thankful for a recent study in our region of the state which concluded that schools are truly a safe place for students. In this study of 7,032 students who quarantined for 14 days as a close contact at school, less than 1% tested positive during their quarantine. This is great news, and it aligns with what we have experienced with our own students at Lakewood Park.
Though these changes may bring about a variety of feelings, we are confident in moving forward with a plan that is supported by the CDC and our state and local health departments. We will continue to make decisions with the safety and well-being of our students and staff in mind.
Please know that we will remain vigilant in following all of our COVID-19 protocols as outlined in our Return to Plan, but if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out.
