Each year, Duke University recognizes exceptional 7th graders for its Talent Identification Program. Lakewood Park Christian School has 11 seventh grade students who qualified for the Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search. Each of Lakewood’s seventh graders had to test at or above the 95th percentile on a grade level standardized test.
As part of the program, these academically talented students can take above-level college entrance exams (SAT or ACT) to further determine their abilities. Duke TIP works with students, families, and educators to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and support gifted youth in reaching their highest potential. Qualifying students can attend additional programming such as Scholar Weekends or Summer Studies at college campuses across the country.
