Superintendent’s Quarterly Message

Welcome to another year at Lakewood Park Christian School. LPCS is a special school- a place where families entrust their children to the care of teachers, coaches, and administrators who share a common goal of teaching and training children in an environment that is safe, academically rigorous, and spiritually nurturing.

As the new superintendent of Lakewood, I am honored to have been chosen to serve and lead our school. My wife Jennifer and I moved from Charlotte, North Carolina, in mid-August and are already enjoying our new home here in Auburn. We have enjoyed doughnuts at the DeKalb County Fair, experienced Amish culture in Shipshewana, and cheered at a Tin Caps game. We realize that we stand today on the success of many who have gone before us, and we look forward to the vision that God will give us as we prepare students for life beyond the halls of Lakewood.

This year has begun as a year of listening and learning. I have discovered much about our history and values as we prioritize needs. I recently sent a survey out to our faculty and staff to solicit their input and to discover what they deem important. I received great feedback that is helping us determine our next steps and our course of action for progress.

As we journey through this school year together, I hope you will see that everything we do is bathed in prayer and guided by God’s desire for this ministry.

This year, we plan to raise funds to pay for HVAC in the gym, professional development for our teachers, unique experiences for our students, special projects to enhance our facility, updated marketing plans to recruit students, and more. As many of you know, tuition does not cover all of a school’s expenses. It especially does not cover the initiatives that make good things even better. Please consider helping us as we drive to grow an excellent school into flourishing one.

Additionally, we are planning many new initiatives for the spring semester. Our first State of the School evening will occur on January 28. During this evening, we will kick off re-enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year and discuss new programs, honor societies, and potential courses and plans for the next school year. Mark your calendars! You won’t want to mis this exciting evening.

Blessings on your journey!
