With the first full week of school having already come and gone, we also held our first official chapels of the school year. Nick Di Domenico, Spiritual Development Coordinator, introduced the theme of the year for our secondary students: Our Fight Song.
This theme is based on Jude 3 which reads, “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about or common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints,” (ESV). Mr. Di Domenico, along with some additional guest speakers, will be walking Jr. High and High School students through the book of Jude, challenging them to embrace the great purpose that God has given us to fight for: the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In explaining how he arrived at this focus for the year, Mr. Di Domenico shared that he wants students “to understand that there is more to life than just themselves.” We live in a world that is sending an ever changing message of what is true, good, or right. This year, we hope to engage the hearts of our students to love and fight for the Truth, while equipping them to do so with wisdom and love. We are trusting that God will be present and active in our chapels and throughout our school this year, and hope that you will join us in prayer for all of our students!
